About

What we do

We currently work with partner organisations in Gauteng Province with focus on Soweto and Lenasia. Our Coaching football program raises awareness of alcohol and drug abuse and HIV and AIDS. Our priority sectors are health, education, environment and economic empowerment. We address the themes of preventing alcohol and drug abuse, gender, HIV & AIDS, human rights and peace building across our work.

About Skillshare

We work to reduce poverty, injustice and inequality and to further economic and social development in partnership with people and communities. We do this by sharing and developing skills and ideas, facilitating organisational and social change and building awareness of development issues.

Our vision is of a world without poverty, injustice, and inequality where people, regardless of cultural, social and political divides, come together for mutual benefit, living in peaceful co-existence.
About

Bringing people together

Skillshare South Africa is built on the belief that when ordinary people work together combining their courage, compassion and determination, they can bring about extraordinary change in the world. Since our official registration, we have worked steadfastly to raise awareness on alcohol and drug abuse, reduce poverty, injustice and inequalities by sharing skills and empowering people to meet their social and economic needs.

Dedication to the cause

We are dedicated to delivering long-term, sustainable development programs that responds directly to the needs of the people. Our work has always been characterized by our partnerships with grassroots organizations, our use of international and in-country volunteers to build skills and capacity, as well as the way we harness the unique power of sports to empower marginalized people. All of this work shares the common aim of allowing people in the communities we work with to take ownership of their development.

Making things happen

Skillshare South Africa believed in the power of volunteers as a catalyst for change and contribute crucial skills not available across communities. We enhance the capacity of communities through deliberate efforts like placement of volunteers, organizational development, etc.
